Scotch-Brite Cleaning Products Review and TWO Giveaways!

With the holidays around the corner (and my Christmas vacation starting in five weeks!), it is easy to get carried away in all the hype of Christmas shopping and finding that "perfect" gift. Sometimes, it can also be a little stressful, especially if you plan on hosting several guests throughout the season. At our house, it is customary that my husband generally takes care of meal preparation and planning while I take care of the cleaning, both pre- and post-dinner party. It is a compromise we non-verbally agreed upon long ago since it naturally fit with his love of cooking and my love of cleaning. This holiday season will be a bit different, however, since I will have a brand new stash of cleaning supplies courtesy of 3M Scotch-Brite, my favourite brand of cleaning sponges!

Ever since I got married and took over the general cleaning and upkeep of the house, I would always be on the lookout for the cheapest cleaning products in the hopes of saving money. Cleaning sponges were often at the top of my list because I use them a lot, especially in the kitchen. The problem with cheap, dollar-store quality sponges, I soon discovered, is that they don't always do the job. Soon, I found myself staking out local stores for deals on Scotch-Brite sponges and buying in bulk, especially in those stores that offer rewards as part of a customer loyalty program. It was a win-win in terms of saving money as well as in the kitchen. Using quality cleaning sponges not only made the chore of cleaning easier but even enjoyable. Yes, I said enjoyable. I grew up with a mother who works as a cleaning lady and thus appreciate the work behind maintaining a house that gleams. It's rewarding. You know what I mean? I have to say that my favourite Scotch-Brite sponge is their No-Scratch Scrub Sponge, perfect for countertops, sinks, dishes, non-stick cookware, pots and pans, and more! The contoured sponges are comfortable to hold, too. Also included in the package of samples was their Light Duty Printed Scrub Sponge, as seen in the picture above. I think they are great for cleaning when the guests are around. How cute are they?

In addition to the sponges, I was able to test out a variety of other cleaning supplies including Scotch-Brite's Kitchen Microfiber Cloths. I had not tried them before and wish I had. I love them! They are ultra absorbent and easy to rinse and wring. I really like that they dry quickly, too, unlike the standard cloths I use that end up building a funky stink within a day or two. I give these Scotch-Brite cloths two clean thumbs up!
