The Wiggles Are Taking Off! - Toronto Concert Dates and Discount
Saturday, May 11, 2013
What's red, blue, purple and yellow, and comes from Australia? Why, it's the Wiggles, of course! In case you haven't heard, there are some new faces amongst the beloved group of children's entertainers. Last year, we said good-bye to the lovable Greg, Murray and Jeff who retired their purple, red and yellow skivvies in 2012 to make way for a new generation of performers. Welcome to Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce!

For those who have been following my blog for a while now, it will come as no surprise how relieved I was to learn that my favourite Wiggle Anthony would be staying on as the blue Wiggle. It goes without saying that I could not pass up on the chance to meet the new Wiggles here in Toronto. Earlier today, my son and I headed to the Corus Quay for a special meet and greet. They performed snippets of some of the old favourites as well as songs from their newly released album Taking Off! Today's event also doubled as a fundraiser to benefit Corus Feeds Kids.
The new generation of Wiggles, who will never be able to 'replace' the original cast, brings nonetheless a fresh and upbeat twist to the stage while still staying true to all that makes the Wiggles fun and enjoyable.
Lachy the purple Wiggle falls asleep periodically throughout the show as did Jeff. But he often awakes with an unusual urge to do a handstand, sing O' Canada or even dance Gangnam style!
In addition to the Wiggles, there were a few well-known characters at Corus Quay to greet us, such as Babar, Scaredy Squirrel and Franklin the turtle.

That must have been such a fun event! I don't think I could have resisted giving Anthony a big hug. I have such a crush on him :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I wonder if they are going to have any other shows in Ontario... (off to google)
ReplyDeletedoes this code still work for the september show?
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be working but it no longer saves you 50%, as that offer ended May 12. The code BOW does seem to save you $5 on the cheapest tickets ($15 + fees) and $10 on the next highest price ($20 +fees). However, it seems to only work if you click on the "Purchase tickets here and save!" link above. I had to enter the code twice and it worked the second time. Good luck!
DeleteI just used this link (and promo code) and it worked! The $15 + fees tickets are actually the $30 + fees tickets, so it still does give them to you at half price, but it is only for that price level.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the code! My kids will have the best time!
I'm glad it worked for you! Hope your kids have a fabulous time!
DeleteThanks for taking the time to leave a comment here on Toronto Teacher Mom. Hope you have a great day!
