The Impact of Cyberbullying and the Role of the Teacher
Thursday, March 31, 2016
This week concludes the final learning experience in the Integration of Information and Computer Technology additional qualification course I have been working on for the past few months. As part of our final assignments, course participants are asked to create a digital portfolio highlighting a selection of our work that we have submitted throughout the course. I have chosen to share my reflection on the impact of cyberbullying and the role of the teacher simply because I feel that this is such an important topic, especially in today's digital age. While I make no claims that I am an expert of any kind on the topic of cyberbullying, I would like to offer my thoughts on how cyberbullying may effect students and what teachers can do to help deter cyberbullying in schools. Please note: this is not an exhaustive list but merely a collection of ideas that stand out most to me.

Cyberbullying has become so widespread, and not just amongst kids but adults too. I hope someday people will wake up and realize how hurtful bullying (in any form) is awful.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection. Teachers can provide such a great model for kids, and guide for ethical behaviour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to leave a comment here on Toronto Teacher Mom. Hope you have a great day!
