Baby On Board Apparel for Blossoming Bellies!
Saturday, June 12, 2010This post is long overdue but better late than never, right? And speaking of "late," are you "past due" and anxiously awaiting official confirmation on your pregnancy? Are you worried about how your body, your relationships and, in essence, your life will change? This can be one of the most terrifying of unknowns but also the most exciting. The first time we tried to conceive, we succeeded. I wasn't prepared for that. And while I was excited about bringing a child into this world, my initial reaction was, "What! My body is going to get... bigger?" I was already finding it hard to adjust to my new life. I had only been married for 3 months, recently moved to Toronto from Hamilton and just started a new job. Now I had to reconfigure my life, and my wardrobe, to accommodate my growing belly.
Part of the adjustments, since marrying my dear husband, was slowly changing to an organic and natural way of life. It was all new to me. But I don't regret it. A few months ago, I was approached to do a deskside review with Toronto's Ali McEwan, founder of Baby on Board Apparel. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend but I had to share this information with my readers regardless. I read their press release and I instantly fell in love with her maternity collection. Why? Because Ali uses recycled polyester, rececyled polyester blends and, get this, cooling organic cotton! I hadn't heard of organic cotton when I was pregnant back in 2004 so I was thrilled to hear that it is now becoming more à la mode. BOBA clothing is also made through an eco-conscious manufacturing process which includes local manufacturing within a 60 km radius. Yay!
Released in March 2010, this new line of eco-friendly maternity wear caters to women of all shapes and sizes by offering a wide array of sizes from XS to 2XL. And to ensure a perfect fit, each piece in this collection is pre-shrunk 3 times. They provide full coverage of the tummy area and come in a selection of basics that can easily coordinate with your existing wardrobe and can also be worn post-maternity. Where was BOBA when I was pregnant? *sigh*
They currently have a sale on their Celebration Tees, including their Made with Love Tee. This particular tee made the list of products that were included in Style Cafe Moms Celebrity Basket to Ellen Pompeo. Isn't it funky? To view the entire BOBA collection and order online, visit BOBA's online store. You can also save 30% off your purchase by entering coupon SUMMER10. In the meantime, I'll be sending out best wishes to all moms-to-be!

I won't be needing any apparel for Blossoming Bellies again (I don't think!) but I wanted to let you know that I'm finally catching on to this "following" thing, and I'm your newest follower. (I'm a teacher Mom myself, only a couple of hours away from you!)
