Watch WE DAY Online at WeDay.CTV.ca

Saturday, September 25, 2010

About a month ago, I shared some information about We Day 2010 including the amazing line-up of motivational speakers, activists and performers who will be on stage to ignite passion for social change in our students. I am super excited to be able to attend this year with a group of a dozen Me to We students who have dedicated themselves to promoting social change within our school. This will be the first time that I get to partake in what others describe as an incredible experience. And now, you can, too, thanks to CTV.

Free the Children and CTV have partnered up on WeDay.CTV.ca to provide a real-time feed of the days' events and can be streamed live on the CTV Video Player. You can watch either show as they are streamed live or afterwards on demand. Teachers can also set up an LCD projector connected to a computer with high-speed internet in their rooms to share the events live with those students who were unable to take part in person. Isn't that awesome?

And if you're on Facebook (and can access it from your workplace), you can even interact and share messages with people online and on location via Facebook integration. You can also stay up to date on weday.ctv.ca by viewing photo galleries from the events as they happen, chat online with Free the Children staff during the live events, converse on Twitter using the hash-tag #weday and more. How do you like them apples?

The site will also have Free The Children guest bloggers such as Spencer West, Robin Wiszowaty, Erin Nairismagi and Kate Bruce-Lockhart. The events are being taped as part of a CTV special called CTV PRESENTS: WE DAY 2010. Broadcast details will be announced soon.
