2011 Holiday Gift Guide: Agloves Sport
Sunday, December 04, 2011
How many of you own a touchscreen phone? If you do, have you ever found it a little frustrating that you have to remove your gloves in the winter in order to use it? I know I do. As I discovered last year, the technology behind touchscreens has nothing to do with the heat in our fingers. The technology is actually capacitive. I provided a little description on how this works in my review of the original Agloves.
Designed to keep your fingers warm, Agloves provide 10-finger touchscreen accuracy during the cold winter months. In fact, Agloves has received the highest ratings for precision and accuracy, and was named “Best Winter Tech Gadget” by MSNBC. They now offer Agloves Sport which are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. They are warmer and thicker than the original Agloves and have a snug wind-resistant cuff. The ratio of silver to nylon is increased from 7% in the original pair to 15% in the Sport version, which I was sent for review. They feel a lot softer and stretchier than the original Agloves and I love they feel snug, too. They would definitely make for a great gift idea this holiday season at a cost of $23.99. The original Agloves cost only $17.99. In addition, they now have Agloves Bamboo which come in a natural bamboo colour and are super soft.

I learned Agloves are not designed to be winter, ski gloves. They are not water-proof or bulky. But they are surprisingly warm and warmer than other knitted gloves

I learned that the name Agloves is derived from the periodic table of the elements' name for silver.
ReplyDeleteI learned Tiny amounts of moisture, salts and oils on your skin allow electrons to flow between you and your device, thus communicated to the device. I didn't know that and it's a bit creepy! :)

ReplyDeleteBioelectricity refers to the capacitive stored electrical charge occurring within or produced by living organisms such as humans. The connectivity of this stored electrical charge to the touchscreen is affected by moisture, both environmental and sweat, and salts on the surface of the skin!
