Is #EqualCanada Sweetener Available for McCafé Coffee Lovers? #CBias
Monday, January 02, 2012The main purpose of our visit to the mall was to return her gift of perfume. You see, she told her wonderful husband that she wanted Burberry London perfume when what she really wanted was the Original Burberry. Once she made the return, we went to a couple of shoe stores to check out some boots before heading across the street and checked in at McDonald's for a McCafé coffee break.
One of the first signs I noticed was their McCafé "Thanks a Latte" sign.
It was a busy location but we were served quickly. My friend ordered a latte and chicken nuggets and I ordered a cappuccino and some cinnamon melts. It wasn't until we found a booth that I noticed they had given me a mocha instead of a cappuccino.
I've never tried the mocha and discovered it's not my favourite. But I drank it anyway.
I checked out whether or not they had Equal sweeteners available and they did not. Neither of us use sweeteners but it would be nice to see Equal available to offer customers more of an option, especially considering it's appropriate for use by individuals with diabetes. Offering more than one type of sweetener could be better for business. My friend did find this handy nutritional information chart on the back of our tray liner. As soon as I saw the amount of calories in the melts, I stopped eating them. I don't know why it came as a surprise to me but it did. Yikes!
In any case, I filled out the online customer survey and made a suggestion that they offer Equal sweetener.
