Share Your Words of Hope and Win!
Sunday, February 26, 2012Growing up as a kid, I was a slow reader and often found myself re-reading sentences over and over to better understand them. Needless to say, reading wasn't always so enjoyable. That is, of course, until I discovered what is now my favourite children's author Robert Munsch. The audio tracks we listened to at the library combined with the detailed illustrations of Michael Martchenko made for a fun and entertaining read and helped to bring the stories to life. I have become such a huge fan of both their work that I now own several of their books and read them often to my own children.
As a long-time fan, I am excited to share that Childhood Cancer Canada, a charity that helps families affected by childhood cancer, is teaming up with Michael Martchenko to launch a new creative project called Words of Hope. From now until April 1st, Canadians are invited to submit "words of hope" for families affected by childhood cancer through WordsofHope.ca. The submitted words will serve as inspiration for a unique work of art that Mr. Martchenko will create and exhibit in Toronto at a surprise location starting May 2012.
To help commemorate International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, I am encouraging Canadians to share their inspiring words of hope. For doing so, three of my readers will win an autographed copy of a recent Robert Munsch book illustrated by Michael Martchenko.
In order to win, visit WordsofHope.ca to share your inspiring words and then fill out the Rafflecopter form below. And thank you for supporting such a worthwhile cause!
