My most memorable call was from my daughter the first time we were apart overnight. She was very young so it wasn't a long conversation but she told me loved and missed me and it made my whole evening a little easier.

the most memorable call for me was when my dad called to say my Nana had passed, we kept insisting he was wrong or maybe it was my poppa. Not my favourite phone call but the most memorable

My most memorable call was a call telling me that I had just won tickets to see Disney on Ice! I was so happy because I couldn't afford to buy the tickets and my daughter was dying to go. It made both her day and mine to see her so happy!!!

My most memorable call was calling my Mom and Dad to let them know about my engagement. When you are in your 40s and still single, most people just give up on you! They were so happy - and then they spilled the beans! They already knew!! John had sat down with them and asked their permission for my hand in marriage. Old Fashioned? Yes! And adorable!

ReplyDeleteOne of my most memorable calls was when I was a child and "Santa" called my siblings and I. I remember that call to this day! We are pretty certain it was our uncle calling but he never let on.

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable call isn't a happy one, persay, it was a call from my mom letting me know my dad was in the hospital after suffering a heart attack. Thankfully he survived as is doing well now - but that call is something I will never forget.

Most memorable is when my dog was lost and I registered him at the spca with a picture in case he came in, 2 days later my friend said she was pretty sure he was the one that she seen run over on the highway close to our house, when I phoned the pound they said they did pick up a dog by that description! I was devastated and sad that my dog had died like that! One week later I was at work and received a phone call from the spca saying my dog had shown up! What? are you sure? they said he has the exact markings as on the picture, I told my boss who said I couldn’t leave until my shift was over and the spca would have been closed, so I said I quit and went to see if it was my dog crying all the way! I go to the cage and there was my baby standing there shaking and when he seen me cried up a storm. Sadly he is no longer with us be we had an extra special bond, and the best call I ever received:)

My most memorable call was one I made - I had gone in with my hubby for an ultrasound to see how far along I was and the technician excused herself to call someone else. I was freaking out thinking there was something wrong. Turns out I was having TWINS! I called my mom the second I got out of there and I got to tell not only was she going to be a grandma - but a grandma of 2! She was so happy she cried!

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable call was from my mother. She had alzheimers disease and remembered phone numbers but when they introduced a new 3 digit prefix, she couldn't remember it.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a wee machine that enabled mom to just say my name and the phone would call me. We tried and tried until she got too frustrated and it wasn't worth upsetting her, so we went home.
Later that afternoon my phone rang and it was mom...she had managed to say my name and get through to me. We both cried for basically the whole call lol. She was never able to do it again.
Thanks

My most memorable call was at a restaurant in a city I don't know. The waiter came over and asked if I was Cindy, and that there was a phone call for me! It turned out to be from the home where I was starting as a guest to say I had forgotten am item there. I'm still not sure how they knew where I was...someone must have told them where we were heading, because even I didn't know where we were going when we left their house!

ReplyDeleteSo many memorable calls over the years, both good and bad. But an early memorable call - I was about 10 and received a call saying that I had won a new 10-speed bike. I had entered a contest at Zellers or K-Mart or somewhere when Mom bought me new jeans :) My skill-testing questing - what's the 13th letter of the alphabet. "M" I will remember that answer forever. First big thing I ever won I think.

Gulp... my most memorable call off the top of my head is not one that is happy.. so I'll tell you my 2nd most memorable call... letting my dad know he was going to be a grandpa :)
ReplyDeleteThe most memorable call I got was my Dr calling me 10 years ago ...after three miscarriages and planning on waiting until we got medical advice she called to say conrats you're pregnant! will never forget the look on hubbys face :)
ReplyDeletewow too many calls to choose from-sad ones, happy ones along with so many other emotions.
ReplyDeleteBeing able to call my parents from the hospital when my son was born was quite the day but sadly calling my then husband at the time that I was in the hospital with my son who swallowed a penny which was lodged in his throat was not so good!
