Disney-Themed Personalized Birthday Cards
Tuesday, February 18, 2014
I was browsing through some of my earlier card designs on my craft blog and saw these two personalized Disney-themed cards I made for a co-worker's twins five years. They were fun to make but, boy, they sure took a lot of time. You see Ariel? Each coloured area is a separate piece of paper, including her lips, the blue of her eyes and the white part, too. And McQueen was made using several printouts that I cut by hand and layered with foam dots. Clearly I had more time on my hands back then.

when my girls were in public school, we made a lot of homemade crafts and I think the same thing as I look back, how did I ever have time to do a lot of it...lol

ReplyDeleteMe, too! It's easy to personalize when you have Cricut machine. I also added Stickles onto the pink lettering to make it sparkle!
DeleteOh my gosh! From just looking at the pictures, I thought they were store bought for sure! That's amazing! It's so funny that whenever I look back and think about or see things that I did years ago, I also often think, wow, I certainly had a lot more time on my hands back then...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Victoria! I know exactly how you feel. I seriously need to re-evaluate my use of time. I miss crafting!

ReplyDeleteI love not only your cards, but the fact that you are making cards and encouraging card sending and letter writing. Always a lovely treat to receive something other than bills in the mail. I am a bit of a stationery junkie and these cards are just too sweet! Visiting via Jenny Evolution Winter wonderland wordless wednesday linkup

ReplyDeleteVery inspiring! Maybe this spring I will try making some cards. As much as I like the convenience of buying cards, it's so much more thoughtful to have made them, especially when my baby girl is helping! I've already got some themes picked out, but I'm pretty sure we'll do something Disney-like the first time :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to leave a comment here on Toronto Teacher Mom. Hope you have a great day!
