Cardinals at the Ontario Science Centre
Tuesday, March 04, 2014
Last weekend, our family visited the Ontario Science Centre to watch the Flight of the Butterflies in the IMAX theatre and to check out the new Human Edge exhibit. We also visited Sesame Street Presents: The Body, which was kind of like being on the show. They did such a nice job! (Photos to come!) On the way down one of the escalators, you get a beautiful view of the surrounding wooded area. I saw a birdhouse with several female cardinals and so I quickly pulled out my camera. The photo above is the original taken while in motion on the escalator and through a pane of glass. The below is an enhanced closeup. I think this may be the first time I have ever seen a female cardinal. Isn't she beautiful? (And to my brother, the photographer: See! I'm learning!)

If you love butterflies, you'll love the movie. I was surprised to learn that the migration pattern was discovered by a local Torontonian! Makes me want to visit the butterfly conservatory where my husband proposed.
DeleteGorgeous photo. It zoomed in really nicely.
ReplyDeleteWe have two cardinal couples who visit our feeders regularly. I love the subtle colouring on the ladies.
I think birds are so pretty to watch! Our zoo has a butterfly exhibit and a bird one. I haven't seen it for awhile.
ReplyDeleteAlways been a fan of cardinals! I love their splash of vibrant color in the winter and their calls in the spring!
