Where in Ontario? #TravelOntario
Tuesday, July 14, 2015
When school's out, summer fun is what I'm all about. I love heading out on the road with the kids visiting our favourite places and exploring parts of Ontario we have yet to see. Today, I share with you twelve family-friendly places to visit. Except number 10. You will want to book a babysitter when you plan that visit. And rent a limo, even. All of these photos were taken by yours truly, with the exception of number 11. That one was taken by my talented brother. Many feature animals but I'm curious. How many of the following places in Ontario can you identify?

Wow, what great places and great pics. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMakes we want to head out on an impromptu day trip!
DeleteI use to have a freshwater aquarium that included lion fish until they ate their tank mates! Very cool fish but they grow fast!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW - loved your photos! :-)
Then their name was aptly chosen - Lionfish, King of the Aquarium!
DeleteAll these are fun places for kids. And nice captures too...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amila!
DeleteFab fun photos and that one of the horse in the air what a great capture :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a tanfastic week :-)
Thank you! I think I took about 100 photos that night. Glad at least one of them turned out okay. LOL
DeleteMany lovely places that you visited this summer. Great that there are so many outdoor places where you stay.
ReplyDeleteMany of them I had visited during past summers but the season isn't over yet!
DeleteI didn`t find out any of those great places... I hope You apology when You know its more than 30 years ago, when I visited my aunt in Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Austria
LOL A lot has changed in 30 years! So nice of you to stop by, all the way from Austria! :)
DeleteGreat photos! Love the giraffes!
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
DeleteI have only been from Toronto to Niagra Falls and that was 13 years ago, so I don't know any of these spots. I just remember that of all cities I have visited when my girls were young, Toronto was my favorite for kids. So, it doesn't really surprise me that Ontario has so many cool spots. Your photos are great. They really tell stories.
ReplyDeleteToronto is jam-packed with great places to see and things to do with the kids. Hopefully, you'll be able to come back soon!
DeleteA fabulous list of places to visit with the family. I love the giraffes and the eagle and heron. I love visiting aquariums. Happy summer, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletePutting this post together, I realized I tend to lean towards outdoor activities. I love being out in nature and capturing animals on camera.
DeleteFantastic photos D. I've been to most of those places save the ones in Hamilton (which is embarrassing given the fact I went to Mac)
ReplyDeleteWell, then. We must rectify that. LOL I wonder if we were both at Mac at the same time...
DeleteLovely set of photos and my fave is the eagle one. Amazing capture!
ReplyDeleteYup. Love that eagle photo, too. My brother is a pretty amazing photographer. He taught me everything I know but I still have so much to learn.
DeleteWhat a great place to visit and exposure!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking this week on #OMHGWW!!
And yet, there's still so much left to see and explore in our province!
Delete#9 is an absolute favorite.....and minutes from my door!
ReplyDeleteThat one is one of my childhood favourites. My parents would take us there all the time and I it fascinating to watch the boats pass through. They new Centre is really neat, too!
DeleteIt's chilly here today....no parks (our favorite park runs along the canal and we can see some huge boats go by) or pools for us today, maybe the locks will be on our schedule later this afternoon!
DeleteWhat a wonderful list!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela!
DeleteWell I have seen 2 on the list - better get working on some of the other! (Judy Cowan)
ReplyDeleteLOL And there are so many others I could have added, too!
DeleteAwesome animal photographs!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristin!
DeleteI got all but the last two! Do I win a prize? ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL Those last two were the trickiest!
DeleteI like all those places. I just hope I can get to Canada one day. Will you be my tour guide?

We'd love to have you!
DeleteWhat great adventures and memories you are making. We are halfway through school holidays and I don't feel like we've done enough but my three girls (14, 15 & 17) seem ok with lazy days and catching up with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteWe're almost halfway too. I don't want to think of going back to work in September, though. That's why I got caught up in reminiscing over summers past. I like lazy days, too, but I want to take advantage of the time off to do things I don't get to do during the school year.
DeleteI don't think you could take more beautiful photos - all of these are stunning! What a wonderful time you must be having!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Evelyn! You're so sweet! Most of these were taken over the last year or so.
DeleteOh wow, beautiful pictures :) love the jumping horse, stunning shots ...
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think I took about 100 photos before I snapped a good one of the horse.
DeleteWe have so much to see and do here in our own province. I love it.
ReplyDelete(Debbie W)
I know! And there's still so much to see and do!
DeleteLooks like fun places to visit. Too bad it's so far away for us.

Funny. I feel the same way when I see other WW posts of unique places. Yet in reality, there are so many beautiful places to explore right in my own backyard.
DeleteWow so many interesting places to discover there! You take really good shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you! In the world of digital photography, we have the luxury of taking hundreds of photos to ensure we get a few good ones.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Jill! I have to admit, I'm pretty proud of that one myself.
DeleteWhat a great idea for a post! I only knew about half of them, and i'm in ontario!!
ReplyDeleteSome of them were really tough seeing as some of the photos consisted only of animals.
DeleteIt does look like there's lots to see around where you live. Have a great summer!!!
ReplyDeleteThere sure is! Hope you have a great summer, too, Alissa!
DeleteReally great shots. Especially the bird. How majestic!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Credit goes to my brother for that one.
DeleteWow, great photography!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBecause I'm a clueless and self-absorbed American, I don't know any of these spots! But I will one day!
